About Oriigins
What we do
We license music from independent artists in Eswatini, organise it into stations, and sell access to businesses on a monthly subscription. Artists are paid through the agreements we sign with them directly. Businesses get music that sounds like where they are.
How the licensing works
Our agreements with artists cover public performance in commercial premises, which is a different permission from personal listening. We check this before a track is ever published.
Your Oriigins subscription covers access to our catalogue. It is separate from the public performance licence your venue holds with ESWACOS, the Eswatini Copyright and Neighbouring Rights Society. You still need that licence.
Why we log every play
ESWACOS distributes money to artists based on usage data, and most of that data comes from broadcasters. Venue play data barely exists. We record every track played in every venue on our platform and make that usage available, so local artists are counted.
